North Central Community Futures Development Corporation Inc. is a not-for-profit organization supporting economic growth in north central Manitoba. Serving approximately 32,330 residents across 7 First Nations, 7 Indigenous Northern Relations, and 3 Urban Industrial communities, the organization provides business counselling, lending, and leadership in community economic development.
Position Summary
Reporting to the volunteer Board of Directors, the General Manager provides overall leadership and operational management, including governance support, financial oversight, human resources, asset management, and reporting to the Board and funding agencies. This is a hands-on role supporting entrepreneurs and advancing regional economic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Board governance and organizational reporting
- Oversee finances: budgeting, accounting, audits, banking, and analysis
- Lead strategic and business planning initiatives
- Manage contracts, marketing, media, and stakeholder relations
- Ensure regulatory, policy, privacy, and confidentiality compliance
- Oversee lending, business counselling, and self-employment training
- Lead and develop staff; foster strong client service
- Build relationships with local government, economic development, and community partners
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business or related field
- 5–10 years' relevant management or economic development experience
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365; Familiar with Sage 50, and internet research
- Bondable; able to sign confidentiality oath; criminal record check; valid MB driver's license
Compensation
Competitive salary and benefits with RRSP contributions.
Salary Range: $95,358 – $106,383 (commensurate with experience). Start date negotiable.
